Winter weather may cause Rumpke service delays

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is attempting to service customers in Jackson and surrounding counties today, where road conditions allow.

However, many residents who live on side streets may not see service until next week due to road conditions.

“The safety of our team and the motoring public is the highest priority,” said Eric Curtis, region vice president for Rumpke. “We provide an essential, critical service; however, we can’t put team members at risk.”

Curtis said drivers are working main roadways in the service area and will attempt to service customers on side streets and more rural areas if roads have been cleared.

“If we’re unable to provide service today, we’re asking customers to leave material at the curb and we’ll return for service as early as possible next week, weather permitting,” Curtis said. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we navigate this week’s winter weather.”
