Week 8 of the Lutheran Dartball League is in the books.

Wegan B and Sauers E continue to lead the league with records of 19-5. Wegan B took two games from Immanuel Darty, while Sauers E beat Dudleytown Mets two games.

In Game 2, the Mets led 7-6 after eight innings. The Mets scored two in the ninth to lead 9-6. In the bottom of the ninth, Sauers E loaded the bases with no outs, but the fourth, fifth and sixth hitters could not hit third for the tie.

Lutheran Lake took two games from Redeemer S. In the third game, the score was tied 1-1 after nine innings. In the top of the 10th, Jamie Miller hit a home run that proved to be the winning run.

Wegan C took two games from the Pastors with the Pastors winning Game 2 5-4 in 10 innings.

Immanuel 1 took two games from White Creek N. Game 2 was 3-2 in 13 innings for Immanuel 1, and the third game was a real barn burner with Immanuel 1 prevailing 10-9.

History

The team in the league ranking eighth in seniority is White Creek N. This is the 55th year for White Creek N in the league. In 54 years, they have won 1,705 games and lost 1,376 for a winning percentage of .553.

In those 3,081 games, they have scored 17,639 runs for an average of 5.73 runs per game. Their highest game was 22 runs in 1980-81. Their highest series was 44 runs in 1989-90.

White Creek N has a high season winning percentage of .710 in 2003-04 when they went 49-20 and finished third in the league. They have won six trophies with a second-place league finish in 2017-18, two third-place finishes, a tourney championship in 1981 and runner-up in the tourney on two occasions.

White Creek N choose Don Frey as their representative on the 50th Silver Anniversary Team. He had played dartball for 47 years — the first 24 years with Jonesville when White Creek didn’t have a team and the last 23 years on White Creek N. Don was consistently a top hitter and was deadly shooting for third base.
