Indiana General Assembly kicks off 2024 session

State District 44 Sen. Eric Koch, R-Bedford, gathered with fellow legislators Tuesday afternoon at the Statehouse in Indianapolis for Organization Day, the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2024 session will conclude on or before March 14.

“Interim committees revealed a number of policy areas lawmakers should work to improve, including our tax system, state agency rulemaking and health care in Indiana,” Koch said in a news release. “I look forward to returning to the Statehouse for the 2024 legislative session and considering these topics to improve Hoosiers’ quality of life.”

As the 2024 session gets underway, Koch encourages residents of Senate District 44 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Koch may be reached via email at [email protected] or by phone at 800-382-9467.

Koch is an attorney with The Koch Law Firm P.C. During session, he serves as chairman of the Senate Committee on Utilities, ranking member of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and member of the Senate Committees on Commerce and Technology and Corrections and Criminal Law.

District 44 includes Jackson, Brown, Lawrence and Orange counties and portions of Monroe County.
