MEDORA

Marvin Walter Wetzel, 79, of Medora, passed away at 7:45 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 15, 1944, in Seymour, to the late Jake &Anna Woods Wetzel. Marvin was a 1962 graduate of Seymour High School. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a maintenance worker and truck driver for Spartans, Crane Hill Machine, Boknecht Trucking, &Hallow Farms.

On December 7, 1970, he married Bonnie Jean Henderson Wetzel, and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2023, after 52 years of marriage. Marvin &Bonnie were blessed with 3 children: Jennifer (LD) Martin, Jeremy (Jessica) Wetzel, &Julie (Adam) Clines. Also surviving are grandchildren: Dakota (Taylor) Wetzel, Savanna (Sam) Neal, Tyler Wetzel, Chloe (Ryan) Kaiser, Corey Martin, Josie Young, &Jake Clines; Marvin’s daughters: Margie (Gary) Day, Iris (John) Fisher, &Felicia (Chris) Mullins; grandchildren: Tabitha, Eric, April, Jesse, Josh, Cody, &several great grandchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and several siblings.

Funeral Services for Marvin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home with Bob Persinger officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The burial will take place at Weddleville Cemetery with full military gravesite rites. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wetzel Family.
