The hostesses for November’s meeting of the All Seasons Garden Club, Shirley Lewis and Darlene Groseclose, served lasagna with salads and desserts provided by several of the members.

The meeting was held at Groseclose’s home with 16 members attending.

While they were enjoying their dinner, Lewis passed a jar full of candy corn around to the members to guess how many pieces of candy were in the jar. First prize was awarded to Kathy Cunningham being the closest and Kathy Rush, runner-up.

President Linda Kamman asked me to read the October minutes.

Groseclose passed a signup sheet around among the members to sign up for the meetings to be held in 2024. Rita Stuckwisch made a suggestion to the group of getting together in January and February, just game night and a light dessert. Normally, the club does not meet those months, and several of the members agreed it would be just a fun get-together.

A vote was taken, and Peggy Broshears volunteered to host the group at 6 p.m. Jan. 8, 2024, and Nita Bridges would host the group at 6 p.m. Feb. 5, 2024.

Then in March, the first official meeting of the club will begin for the 2024 year. Bridges read a poem to the group, “Drinking from the Saucer (my cup overflowed).”

A get-well card was passed around and signed by the group to be sent to member Sandy Kovener, who is experiencing serious health issues.

Stuckwisch and I brought magazines for the members to take home, and the group then discussed several upcoming Christmas open houses to attend.

Bridges reminded everyone of the Christmas brunch on Dec. 2. A gift exchange will be held at that time,

The ladies then visited for the rest of the evening.
