Commissioners set to meet Tuesday at Brownstown

The Jackson County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown.

Agenda items include discussions with Karla Hubbard with the county health department about Health First Indiana and a request from her to apply for a grant from the state to help finance the work of the newly created 180 RCO (recovery community organization).

Health First Indiana is a state-funded program designed to ensure every Hoosier has access to core public health serves that allow them to achieve their optimal health and well-being.

The mission of an RCO is to mobilize resources within and outside the recovery community to increase the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction.

Elected and appointed department heads also are scheduled to give their monthly reports during the meeting, which is open to the public and press.
