Mental health first aid classes being offered

Purdue Extension Jackson County is offering adult and youth mental health first aid courses.

The eight-hour hybrid course teaches people how to interact and support someone who may be developing a mental health issue or experiencing a crisis.

The adult course is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Community Foundation of Jackson County, 107 Community Drive, Seymour. This $130 training is free to registrants thanks to sponsorship from the Jackson County Health Department and Purdue Extension Jackson County. The training is open to Jackson County residents only.

The youth course will be Dec. 5 at the same location and is free thanks to sponsorship from the health department. The training is open to Jackson County residents who work with youth audiences.
