The Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals approved a petition Tuesday night for a special exception to construct a 25-by-40-foot building to operate a pet grooming and boarding business in a residential zoning district.

The pet grooming and boarding business is owned and operated by applicant Laken Reynolds, and the business is operated at 3047 S. State Road 235, Medora, which also includes the applicant’s existing residence and three other accessory buildings.

Reynolds was given a favorable recommendation during the Jackson County Plan Commission meeting Aug. 15, and the special exception was approved 5-0.

No audience was present to speak in favor or opposition.
