Troopers from the Indiana State Police Versailles Post began investigating a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in eastern Jackson County that sent a Clark County man to an Indianapolis hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The initial investigation by Trooper Korry Clark indicated that shortly after 9 a.m., a black 2001 Toyota pickup being driven by Logan M. Light, 31, of Charlestown was traveling southbound on U.S. 31 near County Road 50N.
For an unknown reason, Light’s vehicle crossed the northbound lanes of U.S. 31 and left the east side of the road, Clark said.
Light’s vehicle hit a culvert and rolled multiple times, leading to him being ejected. He was treated and transported by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services personnel before being taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. He was then flown to a hospital in the Indianapolis area for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The investigation by Clark is ongoing. Toxicology results are pending at this time.
Clark was assisted at the scene by other troopers from the Indiana State Police Versailles Post, officers from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and personnel with the Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department and Coomer’s Towing.
