Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction Co. Inc. is scheduled to conduct nightly lane closures beginning this week along Interstate 65 to complete additional work between the Columbus and Walesboro exits in Bartholomew County.
Beginning on or after Friday, northbound I-65 will be reduced to one lane between the 64 mile marker and the 68 mile marker. The nightly lane closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while work is in progress.
The overnight lane closures are currently scheduled as follows:
Friday through Sept. 30: I-65 reduced to one lane for diamond grinding operations.
Oct. 2 through 15: I-65 reduced to one lane for installation of permanent pavement markings, shoulder corrugations and raised pavement markers.
INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use caution and drive distraction-free in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
