Seymour

The Seymour Owls girls volleyball team hosted Jennings County on Thursday at Seymour High School. The Owls would lose in straight sets, 25-23, 25-22, and 25-23. The team was in every single set to the end, but just couldn’t pull out the victory.

Hitting: Anna Fish, 30-35-11. Journee Brown, 13-14-4. Emerson Johnson, 25-26-3.

Attempts-Good Serves-Aces

Serving: Anna Fish, 16-16-1. Norah Campbell, 10-10-1. Raeann Baker, 11-11-0. Campbell and Fish led the team in assists with 10 each, Fish also led in defensive digs with 11 of them. The team falls to 3-9 on the season.

Seymour will head to the Avon tournament on Saturday. The girls will face Assumption at 10:00 a.m, Oak Park at 12:00 p.m., and Carmel at 2:00 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars faced the Christian Academy of Indiana on Thursday, defeating their opponent in three straight sets. Trinity Lutheran won 25-14, 25-12, and 25-13.

Addie Darlage had the most assists for the Cougars with 29 of them. Laura Roeder recorded three assists and had the most digs with 16. Madison Keith led the Cougars in blocks with 4, Laina Klinge recorded 2 in the win.

The Owls hosted Columbus East on Thursday in the battle for the “O” Cup. The Owls would be heartbroken, losing to East 1-0 on a goal in the 71st minute.
