Joy Delight (Boling) Nolan, 89, of Seymour, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Lutheran Community Home.

Joy was born on October 4, 1933, in Vallonia to the late Forest &Ethel (Teulker) Boling. She graduated from Vallonia High School on May 23, 1953. She married Arville Alva Nolan on January 1, 1954, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Vallonia and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2006.

Joy was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour where she was a part of the Ladies Aid Guild and served as President in 1975 and Treasurer from 1982-1983. She was also a member of the Redeemer Alter Guild &LWML. Joy was a volunteer for Jackson County Memorial Hospital Guild, American Red Cross, Lutheran Community Home Nook-Gift Shop, Cougar Den, Chamber of Commerce, &Trinity Lutheran High School. She was a life member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1925, Auxiliary President, Treasurer, &Chaplain. She worked as a receptionist for Rainbow Asissted Care Enterprises and was an Avon Sales Rep.

Survivors include her children: Peggy Ann Nolan Drees, Diane Nolan Motamedi, &Roger (Elaine) Nolan; grandchildren: Jean Ann (Bob) Nevils, William Bill Drees, Kirsten Lynn Nolan and husband Tony, Yuri Motamedi, &Seama (Motamedi) Orlando; great grandchildren: Lila Lee Motamedi, Nova Lee Motamedi, Nolan James Huff, Adalyn Rosemary Elizabeth Huff, Emmalina Orlando, &Ozla Lee Motamedi, Danni &Will Drees.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers: Ralph, Carl, Robert (Bob), and Forest Boling, Jr.

Funeral Service for Joy will be Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Pastors Andrew Currao &Zach Huffman officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
