The Shields High School Class of 1958 held its 65th reunion, “Moments to Remember,” on Saturday at Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655 in downtown Seymour with 27 classmates and 15 guests attending.
Tables were covered with purple with purple and white floral centerpieces made by Janet Hall Works.
Following a social hour and group pictures by photographer Margaret Wilson, John Lewis welcomed his classmates and guests, and Pat Kelley gave the luncheon invocation for the meal catered by Townhouse Café.
A memorial service was presented with Janice Cooper Sells reading a memorial classmate poem by Jill Eisnaugle, and Saundra Bobb Phelps read the names of those deceased since the last reunion.
They were Larry Carpenter, Tom Taylor, Janet Hildreth Schurman, John Bryant, Jerry Carmer, Darryl Butch Kelly, Marion Stanfield, Patricia Tilley Martin, Sue Lucas Williams, Larry Mobley, Karen Foreman Hinds, Gerald Lucas, Richard Lambring, Shade Shutters, John Sullivan, Terry Henley, Karen Keyes Kiel, Brenda Sciarra Flick, Linda Bollinger McCoy, Ann Moren Brown, Nancy Williams Gerth Winters, Joan Burke Matthews, Sandra Vogel Ritz, Beverly Steele Maples, Joy Campbell McCormick, Patty Spray Buster, Mark Brackemyre and Judith Coates Lewis.
Classmates introduced themselves, spouses and guests and spent time reminiscing with Lewis, Kelley and Mickey Beck taking the microphone.
Committee members for the 65th gathering were Bev Stark Kelley, Saundra Phelps, Janice Sells, Janet Works, John Lewis and Connie James Gerth.
Attending from out of state were Don Schroer, Georgia; Andrea Schroer and Raul Yrastorza, California; and Sandra VonDielingen Walter, Ohio.
