Dog Days Dog Show coming up Aug. 26

The Humane Society of Jackson County’s annual Dog Days Dog Show is set to start at 9 a.m. Aug. 26 in the Keach Parking Lot at Fourth and Walnut streets in downtown Seymour.

Registration will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The cost is $3 per entry, and people can enter their dogs in up to three categories. All dogs entered also will be eligible for door prizes and receive goody bags.

The categories include most hair, waggiest tail, best dressed, most unique, longest ears, best paw shake, dog most resembling owner, precious puppy, best trick, hot dog hunt, best rescue story and best smile.

A watering station and vendor booths will be set up and microchipping will be available during the event. All dogs must remain on a leash for their safety.

The show is sponsored by the Humane Society and the Jackson County Visitor Center.
