MILLPORT

Terry Lance Darkis, age 68, of Millport, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Salem Crossing.

Terry loved spending time with his family, especially going to races with them. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto mechanics, racing cars, photography, and computers.

Born on April 9, 1954, in Seymour, he was the son of Floyd and Lucy Darkis and John and Ruby Rice, all of whom preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons: Justin Lance (Stephanie) Darkis of Tennessee, and Brandon Levi Darkis of Tennessee; six grandchildren: Tristan Darkis, Traiton Darkis, Kacie Darkis, Kodan Darkis, Gavin Darkis, and Storie Darkis; siblings: Tracy (Rita) Darkis, Troy (Linda) Darkis, and Lana Darkis, all of the Millport area, and Bruce (Debbie) Rice, Tim (Tammy) Rice, and Tawana (Steven) Smith, all of Seymour; several nieces, nephews, aunts, special aunt-Winona Reed, uncles, and cousins; and good friends, Brad Blevins and Ray Weston.

Terry was also preceded in death by his grandparents: Emmett and Geneva Boling Jackson, George and Myrtle Fleenor Rice, and Jake and Sarah Cole Darkis; one brother, Tony Rice; one nephew, Neal Rice; and one niece, Crystal Gross.

Funeral services for Terry Lance Darkis will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia, with Pastor Jason Cooper officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Plattsburg Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association or Faith Southern Baptist Church.
