Seymour police continue to investigate the death of a male whose body was found Friday on the city’s east side.

The investigation began at about 1:15 p.m. when police received a report of a body found in a small creek on the east side of the Burkart Boulevard bridge between Fourth and Tipton streets, according to Lt. C.J. Foster

It appeared that the male, whose body was removed from the creek and taken to the morgue at Schneck Medical Center, had been there several days, Foster said.

Personnel with the Jackson County Coroner’s Office, Seymour Fire Department and Jackson County Emergency Medical Services also assisted with the recovery of the body and investigation.
