A 57-year-old Seymour man has been arrested after admitting to sending inappropriate videos of himself to an underage female and receiving photos of a sexual nature from the girl, police report.
Michael William Alexander, 57, faces a charge of possession of pornography or obscene material, a Level 6 felony, Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer said in a news release.
Alexander was in violation of a house arrest agreement by possessing a smartphone, Meyer said. He was put on house arrest as the result of a charge of solicitation of a minor that occurred in Jennings County in 2019.
The recent incident began Feb. 26, according to the probable cause affidavit, when Jackson-Jennings Community Corrections officers went to talk to Alexander about obscene images found on his cellphone. He was found at Walmart Supercenter in Seymour.
During Alexander’s interview with police on the same day, he admitted to having multiple social media accounts across several platforms under different names. He said he communicated with a girl who allegedly initiated contact with him through Facebook Messenger.
Alexander was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at the end of the interview.
