After being out of action for about a week, the Trinity girls basketball returned to the court on Friday night as the Cougars played at Southwestern (Hanover).

Trinity came away with a 69-37 victory.

Leading the way for the Cougars was Bailey Tabeling, who had 23 points on the night. Liza Froedge added 17, Madison Keith scored 12, Jordan Brewer had 8, Kailene Cockerham 3, and Morgan Brewer and Emma Schepman each scored 2.

Trinity is now 7-2 on the season, and the Cougars will have two games next week before Christmas. They will play at Vincennes Rivet on Tuesday and then return home to host North Harrison on Thursday for an afternoon game.

Trinity plays in tournament

The Trinity boys basketball team are playing in a tournament in Kentucky right now, and the Cougars started things out right with a 63-45 win over Franklin Classic on Friday night.

Mitchell Hackman led the Cougars in scoring with 23 points, Kowan Gross scored 9, Jacob Sabotin had 8, Kade Hill 6, Evan Hunt 5, Levi Froedge 4, Andrew Bell 4, Caleb Williams 2 and Jacob Conrad 2.

Trinity is now 3-2 on the season and will play again tomorrow night as well.

Medora falls to Orleans

Fresh off its first win of the season, the Medora boys basketball team suffered a loss at Orleans on Friday night.

The Hornets lost 68-14.

Scoring points for Medora in the contest was Shepard Earl with 5 points, Braxton McCory had 4, Dawson Cornette scored 3 and Eli Sturgill contributed 2.

The Hornets will play its third game in as many days tonight as the team plays at Shoals, with JV starting at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow at around 7:30 p.m.
