William “Bill” Brandt, age 87, of Crothersville, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Brandt attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Medora, most of his life. He was baptized on April 2, 1934, and he was confirmed on June 5, 1949.

Bill was employed with Goecker Building Supply and Kova Fertilizer. He was a member of the National Guard, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion, and the VFW.

Mr. Brandt was a fine carpenter and he loved keeping his home in immaculate condition. He enjoyed working outside and tending to his flowers. Bill was an “outgoing” person and never met a stranger.

Born on March 13, 1934, in Dudleytown, he was the son of Robert and Agnes Hoevener Brandt, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Sandy Hunter, and later married Barbara Joann Henderson on September 3, 1977. She survives in Crothersville.

Survivors also include: three sons: William “Bobby” Brandt of Westfield, Douglas Brandt of Crothersville, and Brian (Julie) Brandt of East Berlin, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Linda (Jerry) Stafford of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services for William “Bill” Brandt will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Martin Keller officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday, November 17, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment will be at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Dudleytown.

Memorials may be given to Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Dudleytown.
