Schneck Hospice is hosting GriefShare, a free 13-week program open to anyone who is coping with a loss.

The group, hosted by Stephen Barrett, will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday staring Aug. 26 at The Point, 311 Myers St., Seymour.

The program is for adults and children 14 and older. Registration is not required. Participants may attend any or all sessions, and child care is available upon request.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences, according to a news release from Schneck.

Topics will include living with grief, the journey of grief, the effects of grief, your family and grief and the uniqueness of grief.

Seminars feature video sessions and discussion, and participants can gain access to valuable GriefShare resources to help them recover from their loss and look forward to finding joy again.

“In our fast-paced society, I believe it is imperative for us to take time to grieve,” said Barrett, who is the chaplain for Schneck Hospice. “Being with others that have had similar experiences can be extremely healing. This program is designed to be a place of hope and healing for those whose lives have been broken.”
