The Trinity Lutheran boys basketball team closed the regular season with a 55-37 victory Thursday night over Southwestern Shelby with Hudson Norton leading the way with 19 points.
Moving out to a 16-11 first-quarter lead, Trinity held a 24-18 margin at halftime in the road game, then expanded its margin with a 21-point third quarter.
Jack Marksberry scored 13 points and Mitchell Hackman added 12 for the Cougars in the victory that raised their record to 8-13.
Tyler Goecker, 7 points, and Sage Broughton, 4, were Trinity’s other scorers.
The Cougars begin play in the West Washington Sectional against another Jackson County team, Crothersville, next Tuesday night.
