Brownstown Speedway has honored its 2020 track champions.
The champions were Greg Johnson of Bedford (late models), Jacoby Hines of Trafalgar (modifieds), Jamey Wilson of Seymour (super stocks), Shelby Miles of Bloomington (pro late models) and Dusten Carr of Underwood (pure stocks).
Johnson captured his first career Brownstown late model track champion, taking the title over Shelby Miles, Chad Stapleton of Edinburgh, Austin Burns of Morgantown and Britan Godsey of Bedford.
Completing the top 10 in the super late models were Devin Gilpin of Columbus, Skyller Lewis of Brownstown, Matt Bex of Springville, Brayton Laster of Greenwood and Zak Blackwood from Columbus. Kody Marsee of Spiceland was named rookie of the year.
Miles took top honors in 2020 in the pro late model division, taking the championship ahead of Raymond Humphrey of Bloomington, Brad Barrow of Bloomington, Tyler Neal of Paragon and Justin Bowling of Salem.
Completing the top 10 in the pro late model division were Greg Kendall of Paoli, Steve Peeden of Paragon, Zack Burton from Edinburgh, Marty O’Neal of Spencer and Brett Wagner of Brookville. Wagner was the top rookie in the class.
Hines was the top driver in the open wheel modified division, taking the championship over Zachary Stalker of Salem, Jordan Wever of Bloomington, Bryson Clark of North Vernon and Cole Falloway of Owensboro, Kentucky. For Hines, it was his second career track championship at Brownstown. His first one was in 2016.
The rest of the top 10 in the modified division were Jarod Fleetwood of Seymour, Brayden Watson of Bloomington, John Clippinger of Evansville, Jared Bailey from Bedford and Shawn Negangard of Osgood. Stalker earned the top rookie honors in the class.
The 2020 super stock championship at Brownstown was the third career title for Wilson. He outdistanced Matt Boknecht of Seymour, Steve Hollars of Bloomington, Zach Sasser from Bedford and Tucker Chastain of Bedford.
Completing the top 10 in points for the super stock class last season were Trey Chastain of Bedford, Derek Clegg of Nabb, Webb Lee of Brownstown, Brad Frye of Bloomington and Tommy East of Bedford. Brent Lee was the top rookie in the division for last year.
Carr took the pure stock division title for 2020. Dalton Fleenor of Salem was second with David Palmer of New Albany, Donnie Wilson of North Vernon and Mark Hines of Scipio completing the top five drivers.
The rest of the top 10 included Brandon Lucas of Bardstown, Kentucky, who garnered the top rookie in the division, Tommy Fleenor of Salem, Josh Hayes of Seymour, Glynn Neal of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Keaton Streeval of Edinburgh.
Bryce Burton of Edinburgh was the point champion in the hornet division. Hunter Perry of Columbus finished second, followed by Michael Brewer of Seymour, Josh Hallett of Brownstown and Brandon Crockett of Brownstown.
The rest of the top 10 drivers in the last year’s hornet division were Alex Wilson, Davey Waggoner, Kaleb Caudill, Bruce Henderson Sr. and Jeremy Wilson.
