State health department updates COVID-19 statistics

The Indiana State Department of Health today announced 611 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.

That brings to 9,542 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

Jackson County reported three new cases, bringing its total to 77.

A total of 477 Hoosiers have died to date. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

Jackson County has yet to report a death related to COVID-19.

To date, 51,115 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 48,396 on Wednesday.

Jackson County has had 356 residents tested for the virus.

According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University, nationwide, there are 629,264 confirmed cases, 26,708 deaths and 47,763 documented recoveries.
