Soup social, book sale set Friday in Brownstown

Brownstown/Ewing Main Street is conducting a soup social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Heritage Park, 121 E. Walnut St., Brownstown.

The purpose of the event is for people to enjoy soup, network and talk about football with the Jackson Bowl game between Brownstown Central and Seymour set for that day at 7 p.m. at Seymour High School’s Bulleit Stadium.

Loaded potato soup and chili will be served free to all current BEMS members and any business that takes a membership card the day of the event.

The first 200 people in attendance will receive a BEMS koozie.

Brownstown Central football head coach Reed May will stop by at 12:30 p.m. to discuss the big game.

Those who would like to become a member prior to the event may reach out via Facebook or email for a membership card.

Also from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, the livery barn at the Jackson County History Center, 105 N. Sugar St., will be open with a book sale. Tours will be available upon request.
