The inaugural Save the Red, White and Blue BBQ is set for noon to 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at Bard Street Park, 667 E. Bard St., Crothersville.

The event will feature live music from Old School, J and J, Bethany Worship Band, Jackson Snelling and others.

There also will be a barbecue eating contest for ages 5 and up; an auto show; a 5K run/walk; a baby contest for ages 0 to 12 months and 12 to 24 months; children’s games; numerous vendors; and a closing ceremony for veterans.

The cost to enter the baby contest is $5. Sign up by contacting Erica Gorbett at 812-569-4019 or [email protected]. Then contestants can set out cans to collect money, which should be brought to the event before judging. A quarter a vote will decide the winners.

Vendors may set up a 10-by-10-foot booth for $20.

The fundraiser is being hosted by the Crothersville Red, White and Blue Festival committee, and proceeds will help provide activities and things to do during the 2020 festival, which is set for June 11 through 13.
