Ken Williams, 66, of Martinsville, husband, father, brother, faithful friend, and public servant passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at his home from natural causes.

Born November 11, 1952 in Newport News, Virginia, to the late Fred Thomas. Sr. and Edith Marie Williams.

Ken graduated from Seymour High School, served in the U.S. Army, and then went on to graduate with honors from Indiana State University. He was a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and served Hoosiers with disabilities in a long career with Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation Services.

After retiring as a Region Manager, Ken continued his public service, retiring as a Vocational Development Specialist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

He was a highly respected living history reenactor, specializing in the French and Indian War period of American history. He adored his dogs and cats and also enjoyed studying and collecting early American antiques that could be used and enjoyed in the home he loved.

Ken is survived by his brother, Fred T. Williams of West Lafayette; his sister, Susan E. Vass of Columbus; son Mark Hamlin and his wife Sarah of Lander, Wyoming; daughter Kristin Hamlin and her partner Anne Milburn of Martinsville; grandchildren Margaret Hamlin of Lander, Wyoming, Asher Milburn Hamlin of Martinsville, and Noah Milburn of Martinsville.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, Susan L. Williams; and sister, Ann Fiesbeck of Seymour.

There will be a Celebration of Life on August 31st at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church in Martinsville, IN.

The family requests contributions be made in Ken’s memory to Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah (www.bestfriends.org).
