State police SWAT team called to man’s residence

Police have raided the residence, but the man was not inside, Sheriff Rick Meyer. Authorities will continue to search for the man and investigate the incident.

ORIGINAL POST, 9:20 p.m.:

The Indiana State Police SWAT team has been called to a man’s residence in northeastern Jackson County after he threatened two people, police report.

Police were called to a residence in the 6000 North block of County Road 1300E after a man threatened another man and woman with a gun in Jennings County, Sheriff Rick Meyer said. They have been on the scene since about 6:30 p.m., he said.

Police have not released the man’s name, but said they believe he is in a camper on the property.

No injuries have been reported.

Meyer said the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department is the lead agency on the case.

He said the incident was isolated, but that people in the area should be aware of their surroundings.
