The American Flag billows during opening ceremonies at the 44th annual Crothersville Red, White and Blue Festival on Thursday.

The inaugural Save the Red, White and Blue BBQ is set for noon to 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at Bard Street Park, 667 E. Bard St., Crothersville.

Smokin’ Jay’s BBQ will offer a discount for veterans and active military. There also will be live music, a silent auction, a baby contest, children’s games, arts and crafts vendors, a flea market and commercial vendors.

The event is being hosted by the Crothersville Red, White and Blue Festival committee.
