Mr. George Wesley Hart, 62, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Seymour to the late Arthur and Rose (Stogdill) Hart.

A memorial service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 13 at 11 a.m. with The Reverend Dr. Jeremy Myers and Rev. Larry Tingle officiating.

Family and friends may call at First Baptist Church on Tuesday from 10 am until time of service.

On April 6, 1975, at Ackeret Chapel, he married Carol Godsey; she survives.

George was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, and papaw. He retired from Home Products International after 39 years of service. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved to cheer on the Hoosiers and Colts. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He loved to travel with his wife, but his favorite place to be was the Smoky Mountains. He could always be found sitting out on the deck enjoying a cup of coffee. He was a strong man and a 3-time cancer survivor. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Friendship Class.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Hart; son, Benjamin (Nicole) Hart; daughter, Christie (RJ) Sturgeon; grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, Aiden and Cora; brother, Richard Hart and sister, Kim Cockerham as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
