Library announces August book discussions

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in August.

The groups are open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement. The books are available to check out at checkout desks.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at Bullwinkle’s Family Restaurant, 117 E. Second St., Seymour, where they will review “Year of Wonders" by Geraldine Brooks. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat and should sign up for the program as they check out the book from the Seymour Library checkout desk.

Fantastic Fiction, which meets on the third Friday of each month, will discuss “A Painted House” by John Grisham at 11 a.m. Aug 16 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will gather and share thoughts on “The Unseen World” by Liz Moore at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the library, 120 W. Main St., Crothersville.

The Medora Library book discussion group will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 to talk about "Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the library, 27 W. Main St., Medora.
