NORTH VERNON

Mr. Ben Carr, 88, of North Vernon, passed away at Majestic Care Center, North Vernon on Sunday, June 2, 2019. He was born in Indianapolis on July 27, 1930 to the late Newell B. and Ella M. (Mackey) Carr.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with a flag presentation and taps at Voss & Sons Funeral Service, with Pastor John Emery Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Cana Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday after 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

On October 1, 1949, he married Dorothy Adams; she survives.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. He had previously worked at Arvin Industries and in the construction industry.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Dorothy; brothers, Eddie (Caroline) Carr, and Max (Corinne) Carr; and sisters, Marilyn Terry.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers David Carr, John F. Carr, and Harold Carr, sisters, Betty Engleking and Ella Pickron.
