Great giving

The Salvation Army and volunteer bell ringers for the annual Red Kettle Campaign would like to thank the shoppers at Walmart Supercenter in Seymour for their generous giving this past weekend. Your gift of kindness will be passed on to those in need in the Crothersville area in the coming year. We enjoyed your conversation and word of encouragement. Thank you and thumbs-up.

Fundraising firefighters

Thumbs-up to the local firefighters who have been walking in 5Ks and wearing their full gear that weighs around 60 pounds to raise funds for local projects, including a burn tower so they can participate in training and help homeowners save money on their insurance. So far, the firefighters have participated in 5Ks during the Freetown July Festival and Fort Vallonia Days and completed Girls Inc. of Jackson County’s Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Local firefighters, family members and anyone interested in supporting firefighters are free to come out and participate in future 5Ks with the group.
