Richard R. Beaty, 70, of Salem, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at his home. He was born in Jackson County on January 21, 1948 to Charles and Mabel (Anderson) Beaty.

He was a truck driver for Franklin Surplus and Brownings Trucking Co. On October 4, 1970, he married Diana Wilson; she survives.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Beaty; children, Tammy (Scott) Knappenberger, Terri (Chris) Tormoehlen, Victoria Adams, Melissa Freeman and Thomas Beaty; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; great-granddaughter; brother; and sister.

A Memorial Service will be held at New Life Assembly of God Church in Seymour on Friday, March 16 at 11 am with Pastor Steve Hyer officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 am until time of service.
