Mrs. Barbara Mitchell Stanton, 84, of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. She was born in Mesquite, TX on October 29, 1933 to the late Sam Sullivan Mitchell and Maudie Belle (Butler) Cross.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 6 at 6 pm with Brother Doyle Ponsler officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. State Hwy, Springfield, Missouri, with a graveside service on Saturday, March 10 at 10 am.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday from 4-6 pm.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Seymour. She had previously worked as a book binder for over 25 years.

She is survived by her children, Sammy Jack (Marilyn) Whatley, Dewey Neal Stanton, Marthabel (Doyle) Ponsler, Edyth (Donnie) Meyer and Gregory (Denise) Brown; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard Mitchell.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Neal Stanton; and brother, William L. Mitchell.
