Braves earn MSC win

CHARLESTOWN

Brownstown Central extended its winning streak to three games with a 54-44 Mid-Southern Conference victory against Charlestown on Friday.

The Braves (10-4, 4-2 MSC) held a 10-9 lead after eight minutes of play before extending the advantage to 31-21 at the half.

The Pirates (3-13, 1-5 MSC) closed the deficit to 42-36 by the end of the third quarter, but the Braves were able to hang on for the win in the fourth by limiting Crothersville to just eight more points before the final buzzer.

Michael Boshears led the Braves with 12 points and Hayden Kinsler scored 10 off the bench.

May Mitchell topped the Pirates with 11 points.

Brownstown will travel to Corydon Central tonight for another MSC game.
