SEYMOUR
Marilyn Mae Elkins, 79, of Seymour passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood. Marilyn was born March 2, 1938, in Harrison, Ohio, to the late Fred and Pauline (Amos) Klakamp.
She married Roy Elkins on August 18, 1956, he survives. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Marilyn worked as a medical assistant for many years, where she enjoyed helping others. She was a wonderful cook, loved sewing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roy Elkins; children: Joe (Lindsey) Elkins, and Darrin (Missy) Elkins; grandchildren: Melissa Elkins, Jade Catterton, Kyle (Tessa) Elkins, Mike (Jessica) Schroer, Niki (Josh) Campbell, and Maddie Elkins; 11 great-grandchildren; son-in-law: Kevin Schroer; and sisters: Susie Klakamp and Roseanne Klakamp.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Melanie Schroer; and sister: Cathy Dampier.
Funeral Services will be conducted at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Friday, January 12, at 11:00 am with Father Dan Staublin officiating assisted by Deacon Mike East. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, January 11 from 4:30-7:00 pm and on Friday at 10:00 am until time of service at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. A Rosary service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers Marilyn requested that memorials be written to American Heart Association.
