Harry L. “Butch” Allman, 69, of Scottsburg, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Scott Memorial Hospital.

Born April 9, 1947, in Seymour, he was the son of Everett Allman and Lois Larrison Allman, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 14, 1989, he married Marty Davis Allman, who survives.

He was a retired truck driver for Jay C Food Stores. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Reserve and the Indiana National Guard.

Other survivors include daughter, Christine (Ed) Staley of Seymour; sons, Josh (Krissy) LaFountain of Louisville, Kentucky, Derek LaFountain of Henryville, Shannon Allman and Douglas Allman, both of Seymour, and Donald Allman of Brownstown; brothers, Earl (Suzanne) Allman of Texas and Joe Allman of Seymour; sisters, Nancy (Jerry) Murphy, Charlotte Hill and Judy (George) VanHentryck, all of Seymour; a half sister, Marilyn Foster of Seymour; and five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Darrell and David Allman; brothers, Everette, Donald and Roland Allman; sister, Janet Allman; half brother, John Engleking; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Hill.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin with Bob Little officiating. Burial will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 9 in Madison.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
