Elmer R. “Nick” Nichalson, 94, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at The Waters of Scottsburg.

Born Dec. 5, 1922, in Seymour, he was the son of Roy and Hazel Foist Nichalson, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 5, 1943, in English, he married June V. Sillings, who preceded him in death Jan. 7, 1999.

Nick was the former owner of Seymour Small Engines, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Seymour and a member of Jackson Lodge 146 for more than 50 years.

Survivors include his son, Ronald (Trudy) Nichalson; two grandchildren, Kelly Pelt and Matthew Nichalson; four great-grandchildren, Cody and Rebecca Pelt, Joseph Wayt and Alivia Nichalson; a great-great-grandchild, Lila Wayt; and two stepgrandchildren, Phoebe and Jenna Gray.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Seany officiating.

A Masonic service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
