When it comes to cancer, Jim Hurt’s story is unusual.
It didn’t start with a lump, a color-changing mole, a blinding headache or any other tell-tale symptom.
“My wife informed me that I had a swollen eye,” he said. “And it kept watering.”
“Your left one was bulging,” Marilyn Hurt said.
Thinking he had just a cold in his eye, he didn’t let it get in his way. Although retired, Hurt, who was 58 at the time, kept himself busy by doing consulting work.
