To the editor:
I am a junior at Seymour Christian Academy, and we were asked to write a letter to the editor.
My thought is, why here of all places? Why did God pick me to live here? There are plenty of other places out there I could live, but he chose for me to be here.
The question I hear when people ask where I’m from is, “Seymour where is that?”
I just say,”About an hour south from Indianapolis.”
Sometimes I think, why couldn’t I live in a place where someone actually knows where it’s at? Then something happened and I realize that by living here I have learned how to be a lady. I learned my manners and how to work. I learned how to farm and cook. Those are things I wouldn’t have learned to do if I were to be raised in a bigger city such as Indianapolis.
I am grateful to all the people that make up Seymour. The mayor and the city council don’t even know who I am, but they play a big part of my life. I love my town.
“Why you ask?”
Because my people are here; these are my people, my roads, my cornfields, my town.
