NORTH VERNON

Avis Louise Acton, 86, of North Vernon, died at 3:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (David) Woodall of North Vernon; four sons, Thomas Acton of Columbus, Charles H. (Sherry) Acton of Ellettsville, Ronald (Jessie) Acton and Richard (Angie) Acton, both of North Vernon; two stepsons, Tony and Tim Acton, both of Seymour; a brother, John (Mary Rose) Williams of Indianapolis; a sister, Minnie Weddell of Tucson, Arizona; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Acton, and her second husband, Ellis Acton.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service. Private burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
