Happy 90th birthday
Thumbs-up to our family and friends and The Tribune for making Russell’s 90th birthday a very enjoyable one. It would be a very sad world without our family and friends. Also, thanks for the free brief in your paper, as the elderly seem to get few breaks. Thanks again.

Award winners
Thumbs-up to those receiving awards during the Brownstown Exchange Club’s sixth annual Community Service Awards Dinner. They are: Richard Burrell, Book of Golden Deeds Award; John Nolting, Brownstown/Ewing Cultural Heritage Award; Bob Lucas, Police Officer of the Year; Mitch Noelker, Firefighter of the Year; Sheila Reynolds, on behalf of the Lake and Forest Club, Proudly We Hail Award; Amanda Stuckwisch, Olivia Goecker, Hannah Hackman, Allison Persinger, Brittany Isaacs and Sarah Adams, Youths of the Month; and Isaacs, Youth of the Year.
Helping out
Thumbs-up to the organizers of the annual Cars and Guitars Cruz-In conducted in June each year in downtown Seymour. For 11 years, car enthusiasts have come out and helped raise somewhere just short of $70,000, and those funds have helped pay for playground equipment in some of the city parks.
Pay too high?
Thumbs-down to city officials for paying Mr. Frey (city engineer Nathan Frey) $65 an hour. No one is worth being paid that much money.

Take-home patrol cars
Thumbs-down to city officials for allowing city police officers to drive their patrol cars home out of city limits. One lives out in the Clearspring area and one out in Kurtz. Lots of wear and tear on those patrol cars, gas and taxpayers’ money.

Untimely
Thumbs-down to the The Tribune for poor reporting. Why can’t you get the stories when they happen? Not two days later. I read on Facebook about those people who were killed and the chase in Brownstown. Those stories happened Thursday and never came out in the Seymour Tribune until Saturday. Why print it then? Everyone had read about it. Poor report. P.S. I have taken the paper for 40 years. I never have seen such poor reporting as it is now in the paper.
