The community is invited to attend an Ash Wednesday Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Central Christian Church, 1434 W. Second St., Seymour.

This service is the first of Lenten season and will be family oriented, according to a news release from the church. It will include a time of contemplation and communion.

Participants will be invited to receive a Cross of Ashes on their foreheads. This practice of early Christians symbolizes and reminds us of the death of Christ for the forgiveness of our sins.
