Bruce Clay Caldwell, 72, of North Vernon, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

Born May 7, 1952, in Madison, he was the son of the late William and Betty Edwards Caldwell.

Bruce drove a forklift for Enkei in Walesboro for 30 years before his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed softball, fishing, and sprint cars. Bruce also enjoyed his many good times and friends at Phat Guys Bar and Grill where he worked as a door man.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Patricia) Skinner and Donnie (Laura) Skinner, both of Seymour; daughter, Stacy Skinner of Georgia; companion, Catherine Rose Bonneville; sisters, Diane and Ivy; grandchildren, Jonathon (Allison) Skinner, Clay Skinner, Kinnadi Skinner, Arielle Skinner, Chandler Skinner, Trinity Skinner, and Skyler Skinner, all of Seymour, and Christopher Skinner or Terre Haute; several great grandchildren; and his nephew and nieces, Michael Barnes, Kristi Barnes and Amanda Miller, all of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Duke Caldwell; grandchild, Chanston Skinner; and great grandchild, Ozzie Skinner.

A funeral service for Bruce will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Memorial donations in honor of Bruce may be made though the funeral home to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
