Owls fall to Castle 1-0, ending special soccer season for Seymour; Trinity’s Madison Keith commits to Otterbein on Thursday in Sports Roundup for Oct. 19th

The Owls traveled to Castle for a regional semifinal matchup on Thursday night. Isaiah Goodge scored the lone goal for the Knights in the 35th minute, making the difference in the match.

Seymour ends their season after winning their first sectional title since 2009.

Nine seniors finished their high school soccer careers on Thursday night for the Owls; Lance Hubbard, Donavan Delgadillo, Kayden Cox, Myles Chandler, Jake Loebker, David Bartolome, Thai Daraswad, Juan Fernandez, and Manager Daniel Diego will graduate this spring.

Castle will face Bloomington South on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Seymour High School.

Sectional Volleyball

Medora

The Lady Hornets kicked off their postseason at Loogootee, facing off with North Daviess. The Cougars defeated Medora in three sets, 25-19, 25-9, and 25-8, advancing to the sectional semifinal against Vincennes Rivet on Saturday.

North Daviess was led by Alaina Cornelius who had 18 kills for the Cougars. Amaya Mcbride had 34 assists in the win.

Medora graduates one athlete in Brelee Underwood in the spring, the senior does play basketball for the Hornets in the winter. The team will now focus on 2025.

Keith commits to Otterbein University

Trinity Lutheran senior volleyball and basketball player Madison Keith announced her verbal commitment to play collegiate volleyball on Thursday.

The senior joins teammates Laura Roeder (IU Indianapolis) and Addison Darlage (IU Columbus) as current college commits from the volleyball team.
