Prepare for suspense and laughter with the premiere of “A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody” by playwright Ron Bernas at the Actors Community Theatre of Seymour, 357 Tanger Blvd., Suite 208, Seymour.

The show opens Saturday and also will be presented Sunday for a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. and again Oct. 25 and 26. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at https://actseymour.ludus.com/index.php.

Director Betty Baute says this two-act comedy follows Matty Perry who has made a New Years resolution to kill her wife Julia by the next New Years Eve.

Julia resolves to still be alive in order to see their daughter Bunny wed on New Years Day.

“Who dies during the ensuing year?,” Baute said. “Who is the killer? Are other shady things afoot? You will need to come to the show and see.”

The cast includes three ACTS veterans Ashley Browning, Horace Tucker and Kat Baute, and three newcomers Emma Eickelman, Ashley Shelton and Lester White.

“It’s a super fun show,” Shelton says, who plays Detective Plotnik. “If you miss it, you’ll miss out on a hilarious show.”

“There’s always a mystery lurking around every corner,” said Eickelman, who will portray Bunny.

“Bring your seatbelt for all the twists and turns,” said Tucker, who plays the secretive butler Buttram.

The run time of the show is under two hours and is family friendly.
