Presentation on origin of Monroe Lake at Otis Park in Bedford

Monroe Lake’s 60th anniversary will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 24.

It has left an indelible mark on the landscape and story of southern Indiana and Jackson County. The story of how the reservoir, however, ultimately came to be winds around almost as much as Salt Creek itself.

Dive in with Monroe Lake’s Interpretive Naturalist, Jill Vance, and learn the full story of why and how the reservoir was constructed.

Vance will give this special presentation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at the Bath House at Otis Park, 607 Tunnelton Road, Bedford.

Participants are asked to RSVP for the program by Friday, Oct. 18, by calling 812-275-5692.

This event is part of Monroe Lake’s 60th anniversary celebration. For a full list of anniversary events, see tinyurl.com/monroelake60.
