Jackson County Community Theatre will present William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16, and Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Royal Off-the-Square Theatre in Brownstown

The Bard may not have called his tale a “rom com,” but today it seems to fall into that genre. With misunderstandings, witty banter and deception, the play follows the romantic escapades of two couples — the sharp-tongued Beatrice and the cynical Benedick, the idealistic Claudio and the charming Hero.

As rumors swirl and schemes unfold, the characters navigate love, jealousy and mistaken identities with humor and intrigue. Set against a backdrop of vibrant wit and lighthearted humor, the comedy is a timeless tale of love and laughter that continues to captivate audiences with its delightful blend of romance and comedy.

The parts of Beatrice and Benedick will be played by Amanda Dick and Jordan McKinley. Skyla Fields and Landon Whitson will play Hero and Claudio. Leonato, governor of Messina and father of Hero, will be played by Jeremy Hendrix. Other cast members are Jeremy Kinnett as Don Pedro; Josh Hogan as Don John; Dakoda Bland as Boarchio; MaryAnna Garrett as Margaret and Verges; Paul Angle as Dogberry; Sully Dick as Seacole; and Martin Keller as the friar.

Jeremy Hendrix and Rebecca Fowler are co-directors of the show and Fowler also is the costumer for the show.

Tickets are on sale online through jcct.org, in person at Artistic Impressions Framing in Seymour and Ewing Uniques in Brownstown and by phone at 812-358-JCCT (5228).
