Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves locked up the Mid-Southern Conference title on Thursday, dominating Salem in three sets, 25-9, 25-7, and 25-8 to secure another conference championship. Sophie Wischmeier les the team with 13 kills, followed by Claire Brock who had 12. Kinzee Dean recorded 8 for the Lady Braves. Jaydynn Yeadon led the girls with 4 aces.

The JV team won their match over Salem, 25-20, and 25-16.

Brownstown prepares for the postseason, wrapping up their 2024 regular season with a 24-2 record and will compete next weekend.

The Lady Cougars defeated New Albany on Thursday evening, winning the matchup over the Bulldogs, 25-16, 25-21, and 27-25. Carson Bowling and Madison Keith led the team with 12 kills. Bowling and Addison Darlage recorded 2 aces. Laura Roeder had 16 digs for the team.

The JV and C teams also won their matches for the Cougars.

Trinity’s varsity team improved to 20-7 on the season and will wrap up their regular season today at the Columbus East Invitational.

The Lady Owls grabbed a victory over Bloomington South on Thursday, defeating the Panthers in four sets, 25-12, 23-25, 25-16, and 25-22. Greer Henry led the team with 15 kills, while Emerson Johnson and Zoe Williams had 11 each.

Williams led the team in aces with 4, while Henry and Jamie Bobb both had 3 for the team. Anna Fish had 43 assists, while Norah Campbell recorded 27 defensive digs.

Seymour improved to 17-12 on the 2024 season and will prepare for the postseason, which is next Thursday at New Albany High School against Floyd Central. That match begins at 6 p.m.

The Lady Tigers hosted Lanesville on Thursday night, dropping the match to the Eagles in three sets. Lanesville won the matchup, 25-15, 25-18, and 27-25, improving to 13-12 on the season.

Crothersville finishes their regular season with a 7-13 record and will face Rising Sun in the Trinity Lutheran Sectional next Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
