Seymour school board meets tomorrow

The Seymour Community School Corp. board of trustees will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Seymour Central Service Center, 1420 Corporate Way.

The meeting will include adoption of the school budget, communications and recognition, the consent agenda, donations and grants and updates on construction projects.

There will be an opportunity for public comment on the adoption of the school budget which can be viewed at the service center office.

Julie Kelly will present tools used for effective communication at Emerson Elementary School and Jeanna Eppley will discuss an educational training event for area farmers on Cover Crop Field Day.

Katie Leitzman is requesting approval to accept the Title 1 grant allocation of $895,681.93 to support supplemental instruction and parent involvement for at-risk students in K-5 at all Seymour Elementary schools.

Various other grants such as a health department grant, a $500 donation from Miller Pipeline, a donation from Aisin Mfg. and a donation to the Seymour High School Landscape Management Program will be discussed.

Action items include a decision on corporation health insurance and the eRate and Common School Loan.

First read items include permission to seek bus replacement quotes, 2025 school board meeting dates and a partnership with Southeast Indiana Workforce Investment Board.

The meeting is open to the public and press.

An executive session will be held at 6:30 p.m. to discuss school safety, an individual’s status and strategy regarding litigation, this meeting is closed to the public and press.
